Rifleman - 4th Penn. Bn. - Wayne´s Fort  Ti - 31 August 1776
Little remains to distinguish this Rifleman of Colonel Anthony Wayne´s own unit except his black cocked hat bound with yellow and his blue yarn stockings. He has replaced his brown regimental coat with a buckskin hunting shirt and his brogans with moccasins. He is armed with a Kentucky rifle and tomahawk. The motto burned into the front of his shirt was no idle boast.
